About
Hi there, I'm Lindy! I'm a big geek, especially when it comes to video games. I love drawing and sculpting, but mostly the latter - I have been sculpting dragons for more than half my life.
I got my start in making clay dragons many years ago, when my high school math class was having a Yankee Gift Swap. I didn't have any ready-made gifts on hand, but I'd had some polymer clay lying around for a while, so I thought I'd make a clay dragon for the occasion. I was very into dragons at the time, but was also very new to sculpting, so as you might expect, the result did not look so good. However, I thought it was incredibly cute and proudly wrapped it up in a little box. Of course, the dragon was so horrible that no one wanted it. It was thoroughly ridiculed and I left class that day in tears. Somehow though, this did not make me give up, but instead inspired me to practice my craft and to keep making better and better dragons.
My dragon-making was an on-and-off hobby for many years, but I decided to really start focusing on my skills in late 2012 and have since become a full-time artist. I run my own business, How Many Dragons?, and sell both online and in person at a number of conventions every year. I also accept commissions - I love custom work and collaborating with others! It fills me with joy that people want to own my artwork.
At this point, I have made several thousand clay dragons, so I consider myself an expert. I make all of my dragons by hand in my home studio in Washington state. My strengths include an eye for detail, more than a decade of sculpting experience, and a passion for my craft. Here's to the next thousand dragons, may they spread joy and cuteness around the globe!
